It went so much better than I'd hoped
Sunday, Nov. 02, 2003, 3:35 p.m.

Wow! It went so much better than I had any hopes of it going... Short version: Dad told me he loved me, he talked to me, hugged me, looked at pictures of the wedding with me. He gave me his work cell phone number and told me I could call during working hours so Mom and Larry wouldn't know. He's going to set up an e-mail account, just for himself, and let me know what the address is. He's been carrying my e-mail address around with him in his wallet for four years. He'll e-mail me as soon as he gets the new address. My grandfather seems to be coping amazingly well with Gramma's death. He's sad, and says it hasn't quite sunk in yet, but that it's a release for him, to finally be able to say goodbye after so many years of her being gone. We drove back last night and we're taking today to ourselves, just to lounge around quietly and enjoy each other's company. Life is good. We talked a lot and some of the things we've been constantly fighting about got ironed out. I know what's been driving him nuts lately, aside from general stress, and he's promised to take the time to make sure he still tells me he loves me, even when he's angry which will help keep me more emotionally stable. I know this isn't a very good post after being absent for so long. I'm taking tomorrow off work, also, and will write then. But today... well, today is for me and Anthony. Mwah! See you later.
